Emerging talents, a much better show than 2006.
I’m reluctant to review a mega 300+ students graduation exhibition, because of the myriad works that are simply too dazzling to remember. Instead, this is just a ‘comment’ with ratings.
Most works are mature, show delicate and intricate attention to detail. There is more semblance of individuality in this exhibition than what was seen in 2006; my guess is, there’s a change to (not in any order of importance):
selection/reduction procedures
course syllabus
lecturers
studio opening hours
teaching pedagogy.
Design works in gallery 1 and 2 are 3x better than last year. The execution is MUCH better, considered and technically proficient.
I couldn’t get into the multimedia gallery on opening night.
